For generations, knitters have helped soldiers in the field by providing the hand-knitted, 100% wool garments they need. Recently, this traditional practice has gained a sudden resurgence, especially in Acadiana, as more and more selfless knitters are taking time from their own projects to help the men and women in the United States Armed Forces deployed in combat zones. Vermilion Bay Yarn is proud to support our American efforts abroad. We stock the 100% worsted wool in approved colors for these projects, the needles you'll need as well as the free patterns (you can also download the patterns from the net). We are always happy assist you with the know-how it takes if you need some extra help getting started or along the way. Classes a la Carte: If you weren't able to attend a specific class, or you missed out entirely on one, here's your chance! Simply schedule the class topic of your choice at the time that's convenient for you. Call or visit the shop to set up your own class period! Certain class topics such as finishing, Japanese Short Rows, Fixing Mistakes, and Making Repairs can be tailored to focus on whatever project you're working on at the moment to incorporate your WIP into the class. Regardless of your topic, there is an experienced knitter/crocheter or two in the shop every day, all day during opening hours. Your schedule is our schedule!

Just want to say this yarn is gorgeous and SO soft! I am 3/4 finished with a baby cardigan made with the light blue and it has been a pleasure to knit with. It has great stitch definition.
